What I think of Shakespeare

One of the most random things I've ever written, but I've been reading so much Shakespeare of late that this post seemed appropriate. It all began with those abridged versions of his play I don't remember when. Knowing what Julius Caesar and Macbeth made me feel like the smartest person because of course, no one bothered to read him in middle high. And then high school happened. I had to read As you like it and thus began my fascination with Shakespeare and his writing. I just couldn't read any lime without trying to remember who said it to whom, where and when and all that awesome stuff. Finally in my Senior year I had to read Much Ado about nothing over the summer. It was actually fun, like I actually understood what Shakespeare was doing with this words. The whole Shakespeare reading streak continued with Twelfth Night and finally Hamlet. And as I was reading Hamlet, I started hating Shakespeare more than ever because I hated how he left so much to the reader's interpretation. We used to have these discussions at school and we always came up with amusing theories that couldn't even be proven because Shakespeare is dead and only he knew what he was thinking. That dude is ,hands down, crazy!

Its like everything he writes, he wants to convey a meaning. You never know when you are taking in too much or just ignoring an amazing piece of advice. I don't want this to be in any way a spoiler, hence I'm refraining from making any actual references to the plot. But, I've realized how smart he actually was. I honestly don't care about all the theories people come up with regarding how Shakespeare was actually someone else. All that I care about is that one man came up with all that and that talent is worth all the recognition. So, if I had to read some author for all my life, Shakespeare would definitely be on that list.
